Loss of power

I have an 88 camaro IROC 350 TPI. It has been sitting for many years without running, but I just got it running with a new fuel pump and filter, new spark plugs, new oil. Tranny was rebuilt this week. After first starting the car, it runs fine, accelerates with full power, shifts properly etc., but after about ten minutes, I get very little to no power at WOT, car just bogs down. I stop, shut the car off for a minute, start back up, and accelerates fine and shifts through, but again after ten minutes or so, it bogs down again and loss of power. Any suggestions?

Re: Loss of power

Does your vacuum drop to 0 when it bogs Restricted exhuast? Plugged convertor maybe or muffler less likely but possible?

Re: Loss of power

I don't have a vacuum gauge on. Also, there is no muffler, only a cat. The weird thing is that it works fine for a while after startup, then has problems. Then, If i shut down and start back up within a few minutes, same thing: no power loss, but then like 10 minutes later, power loss.

Re: Loss of power

I know the mafs on these act weird but to expensive, what kind of plugs are installed or heat range of plugs? ECT sensor? I know im just thowing things out there but it sounds like a sensor issue and not much can be done without diag. I would also see if fuel pressure is dropping down. Also is it a severe miss or does the engine just fall flat on its face?

Re: Loss of power

Plugs are new ac delco standards. Not throwing any codes (at least SES light isn't comin on-not really a rough idle either). The miss isn't bad, the engine just seems doesn't want to go and then won't shift up

Re: Loss of power

Im not sure bout the automatics but if the engine isnt upshifting i would think speed sensor, or kickdown cable or lever binding if they have one. Do you know if it had this problem before it sat and what mileage?

Re: Loss of power

well, the tranny was shot so i couldnt get above like 30 anyways. The tranny was just rebuilt and I got it back today, so the tranny shouldn't be an issue or the kickdown cable or anything
