Need help! Timing question
Soooo a couple months ago i pulled my top end in order to swap to carb. In my haste and ignorance i only managed to mark where the distributor was facing and not the order of the wires. I THINK I've come up with a way to solve the problem by running the plug wire to the cylinder the rotor is pointing at and figuring the rest of the timing from there. Will this work correctly? any advice would be welcome.

You will still need to make sure the rotor is pointing the correct direction. Did you bring the number 1 cylinder up to TDC on the compression stroke before tearing it appart?

No, it's not at TDC. If I can get it to crank over i'll crank it to TDC and go from there.
