383 build

Im planning on building a 383 for my 89 Firebird. I would like to see around 350rwhp. Is this possible with about a 4000 budget? What combinations could I get the most out of in this price range? This will be primarily a street car with occasional strip use. The trans will more than likely be a turbo 350. Im open to all engine builds. Thanks

Re: 383 build

What parts are you using (heads /intake ?)
Should do 400hp easy with aftermarket heads .How much work you doing yourself?
Exp
There are 383 shortblocks on eBay for $1700 up .May be more cost effective to buy built 383 short block than source your own parts , machine and have assembled
Set of TFS 195 heads $1000
Cam lifters $400

Re: 383 build

Its all open. Lets say I have a 350 block to work with. It doesnt have to be 383 but thats a possibility. Pretend you have a 4000 budget what would be good parts to get. I will be doing everything but the machining. Im looking at the Trickflow 500hp Top end kit, anyone know anything about these? Im look for the best possible set up within 4000. Thanks
