Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

Okay. My 87 bird had a 305 in it. I put in a 350 bored .30 over with a comp cam in it. I have a couple wiring questions. I'd appreciate anyone who can chime in and tell me what something is or where the heck it goes!

Re: Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

Pic 1: The wires with all the ring terminals go to the starter. The purple wire goes to the S terminal on the solenoid. There should be a two? wire connector that goes to the alternator, and a couple connectors on the same side go to the air diverter valve, which isn't on there yet.

Pic 2: Coil mounts to a bracket that is held in place by the back two intake manifold bolts right below where it is sitting.

Pic 3: Not entirely sure, but, the tanish colored connector is broken, and you will probably have to replace it.

Pic 4: The two wire slide on connector, and the weatherpack connector go to the a/c compressor, two wire goes for the clutch, w/p connector goes to the pressure switch on the back of the compressor. Single wire connector goes to the temp sensor in the cylinder head. (for the gauge in the dash.)

Pic 5: Ground strap. thats where that end goes, not sure about the other end.....

Pic 6: Nice and clean engine anyway....

Re: Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

Thanks for all of the info. Isn't the tan wire, which you think is broken, supposed to go to the knock sensor? I have a tan connector and a black connector, both look the same that either one can reach and fit the knock.

Re: Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

I am not entirely sure on which one goes where.... A service manual would come in real handy here..... I have an 88 manual, but, no clue where it is at the moment. (probably at the shop where I worked on my car....)

Re: Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

Yeah I looked through mine but it does not show the exact connector. Just talks about removal and installation of the knock

Re: Wiring/Sensor HELP!!!!

Look in the electrical section at the diagrams, and go by wire color. Hooking them up wrong can make for some truly strange behavior.
