96 firebird 3.8
I have a 96 bird, 3.8 i just bought it. When i got it home, i noticed the engine was locked ( i only paid 400 dollars no big). I took the plugs out and water dumped everywhere. So long story short it was hydro locked. Got it cranked and running now. When i was turning it over by hand, I happened to notice the crankshaft pully can move in and out a little bit. Now that the car is running, whenever you rev it up it flexes out and then back in. No wierd noises just flex's, any clue what that could be?

Assuming it's the crank that's moving and not just the balancer/pulley, thea it's excessive crank end play caused by a worn/damaged thrust bearing (and/or crank surface). Very few hydro locked engines survive without serious damage.

yea, it seems to be running great though, i think it became hydro locked when it was out of the car, like when they were putting it in. Maybe if they had plugs out and it rained or something.
