Crank but no start

91 Camaro Z28 with the 305. Car cranks like a champ but it isn't kicking over. I have replaced the injectors with the D5B that most people do. Put everything back together and tried to start with same results. Started chasing down everything. Put new plugs, wires, cap and rotor in along with a new coil. Checked spark at the plug and with the tester had a good spark. Had a friend spray starter fluid while I cranked and it started and ran while the fluid was going in then stopped when it did. I ran a pressure gauge on the rail and had 44 psi at priming and held 44 while it cranked. I was told that the pressure regulator could still be bad so I changed it. Pulled the plugs and looked at them. 1, 3, and 5 were dry and white showing signs of burn from sparking. 2, 4, 6, and 7 were wet and with a blacker coating to the insulator. I am running out of ideas on where to go to get this thing running. I have taken in the starter and had it checked. Came back good. I have used a multimeter on all the leads on the ecm and the voltages check with spec. Where to next? What am I missing. I am running myself nuts trying to get this running again. I'm at the point of getting rid of it. I have an 88 GMC that I need to replace the motor and can't keep sinking money in to this without it running.

Re: Crank but no start

Nope, this thing is still giving me fits. I have run out of things to look at to get this thing running. It is trying and I can hear it is trying but it isn't catching. I am going to try and continue getting it started but I think I will pursue selling it also. If anyone needs a parts car or wants a project, let me know. I need a running TBI motor for my truck.

Re: Crank but no start

The ICM doesn't just produce spark it also sends a distributor reference pulse to the ECM if it doesn't sense it, it will disable the injector pulse. I don't think 91s have sequential fire - it's batch fire.

Is VATS active on your car?
