I have a 89 camaro iroc wit the L98 350tpi engine that's done stock,been driving the car for the past 5 months wit no problems but the other night I parked the car and 10mins later tryed to start it and wouldn't stay running unless I held the gas down alil but still had a really bad miss to it or engine shaking..I have replaced the fuel pump,puel press reg,spark plugs and plug wires about a month ago..would the IAC or MAF cause it to run like this..haven't gotten a chance to unplug the MAF to see if any change yet...I know the screen is missing from the maf housing...any ideas anyone..oh yea and new fuel injectors..

I would suspect that the maf is going bad. First thing to do is check for codes to see if any are stored. You can also try tapping lightly on the maf to see if there's any change in the way the engine runs. You can also try tapping on the iac also.

well I unpluged the maf to see if any change but wasn't still ran the same and I also remembered that when I got the car the fuel press reg was going bad and you know had the fuel coming out if the vacuum line on the side of the reg and was coming out pretty bad..could it have made the fuel pump ran longer since it could keep fuel in the fuel rail so started burnin up the fuel pump which is new
