bent flywheel

My FIL had a 350 from a friend of his that he brought me that I am considering dropping in my 86 RS with WC T-5.

I wasn't home when the they dropped the motor off. I inspect the motor and see that the flywheel is slightly bent - no big deal in and of itself as I am going to replace it. However, I ask my FIL why it's bent and he mentions casually that the motor had shifted in his truck so that it was too far back in the truck bed for the engine lift boom to reach the harness. So, instead of getting a longer chain to reach the boom, they hooked the flywheel and lifted the motor out that way.

My question is - did this harm the engine? Is it possible it stressed the crank or something like that?

Flywheel, or flexplate?

If flexplate, no, it didn't hurt the crank or block.

Re: bent flywheel

If it is a flywheel it could have bent the crank or crushed the main bearings or stressed/gouged the block. i would pull the oil pan off and remove the crank to check things out.

Re: bent flywheel

Sorry for the confusion, it's the flexplate, not the flywheel.
