shift kit = 2 ruined harmonic balancers?

About 2 years ago we built the trans including a shift kit on our GTA. A year later we notice the stock harmonic balancer has slipped. So we replace it with an ATP balancer from the local auto parts. Another year later, the new balancer has slipped again.

Is this a freak coincidence? Are the hard shifts causing the balancer to slip? If so, what balancer do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Sounds like a fluke to me....I run a high horse motor and a shift kit and stock balancer....never had any problems. Probably you could get another brand name one, or maybe a aftermarket balancer. GM would be the best way to go stock
