Head Problems????
I have an 1984 camaro, i put a sbc 400 in. I only had a set of 350 heads to put on it. There just stock heads dont really know much about them. When i get it to start it wont idle, and its really hard to start as well, i havent changed the starter yet or nothing likel that. I was just looking to see if it was my heads that would be causing me trouble or might cause trouble in the near future tell i can changed them.

Re: Head Problems????
Well for one they wont have the steam holes 400 heads usually come with, but other than that unless you're running insanely high compression (or low) you should be fine.
To get more information, you'll need to supply more information. Casting numbers would be a good start. Choppy idle is usually not related to the heads, and is more of a timing/vacuum problem. Check hoses and timing. Drill the appropriate steam holes for any sort of long-term use.

Re: Head Problems????
We need more details. Details about the engine, what you've done and how you did it.
When you say 'really hard to start', do you mean the engine cranks slowly and like it's laboring OR it cranks at normal speed but just won't fire.
How'd you go about setting the lifter preload? 'Won't idle' can be caused by several different things - a lifter(s) set too tightly is one of them; vacuum leak, etc.
Without more information we'd just be guessing.
