Ok guys need your help. I have a 1990 RS with the 5.0 TBI not planning to convert to TPI so need some input. My current dream set up is boring out the block about 40 over and cam it out. I want to rebuild and port the heads. I have hedman headers and have a complete customo cold air intake and a complete custom 2 3/4 inch exaust system with thrush welded mufflers. I will later tune and dyno the car and install a venom 400 performance module. i want to be hitting about 400 horses to the wheels. I need to know what you think and any input you have on it, i also want to know any recommendations for a good priced cam.

 

i dont think you'll get that much hp. there was an online magazine article about this. i'll see if i can find it. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te..._ii/index.html they only got 230rwhp

 

is this for the same motor you want nitrous for? also why do you double post all your questions? lol i had to be a wisea$$.... from what i gather you have a 5.0 that you want 400hp out of and everyones saying you cant get that from what you want to do so you want to spray.

GET A 350!!! the price youre going to pay for the nitrous alone will pay for the motor build, as you said youve built motors before, so just do it again, my 350 build should be right at 400fhp and is costing me 1500 said and done, however i do my own machine work (prob $600 worth).... you can find a 97+ vortec truck motor with 906/062 heads for under $300, rebuild it, slap on a cam, touch up the heads, throw on a carb and intake and youll be right were you want, and you wont have to open a bottle to have the power......
