What is this?

Well, I have a question for you guys. Don't know if it belongs here, or somewhere else...

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm just going to ask everything here...A few "What is in this pic" 's

Obvious, the green disconnected wire. Looks like it would ground to the obvious spot in the firewall, except well...it's green

The plug and hose I expect went to the canister, but the multiple cut wires?

Anyone know what that is mounted by the battery?

That'll about do it for now. Except my temp gauge doesn't work at all. Here's a pic of the driver side head, where I'm told the sender is located. Anyone care to point that out, if it's there, in the pic?

The solenoid itself can't be relocated because it's part of the plunger that engages the starter gear with the flywheel, Chevy uses the ignition switch to directly energize the starter's solenoid and motor. You can rewire the ignition switch to energize a remotely mounted 12v power relay to energize the starter solenoid similar to the system used by Ford.
How does this help? Wire resistance increases with heat, moving the ignition wiring away from the heat source will ensure all the power (amps) available to the starter isn't reduced by the increased resistance of hot wires.

Re: What is this?

So either or, it's something for the starter.

Thanks

So the green wire near the firewall is not OEM?
Nor is the blue/black wire hanging over the headlights?
