Help setting AFPR?

Ok, now i really need some definate answers here. I keep getting the runaround on this one. I need to know how exactly to set my adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Ok, with the vacum hose to the regulator disconnected, and my fuel pressure regulator testing gauge connected to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. That much i do know.LOL . So, am i starting the car and setting my regulator to stock setting now? Or say i want to set my fuel pressure to 50 psi. Am i setting the regulator to 50 psi, while the car is idling? and then reconnecting the hose and watching the pressure drop by 10 psi or so? I have been told that the pressure drops once the vacum hose is reconnected. So, I am confused here. I am assuming that i need to start the car to set the pressure right? and set it at idle? or am i looking for full-throttle? Also does 50 psi mean 50 psi before i reconnect the vacum hose? I would assume so. right? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Help setting AFPR?

disconnect and plug the vac line goin to the regulator, start car, let it warm up, set the pressure to 43-45...

50 in my opinion is way to high, put the vac line back on the regulator, thats it.
