Rear diff question

Just wondering... I put Mobil1 75-90 in the rear diff when I replaced the cover gasket due to a leak, (from previous owners using a floor jack under the diff).

My question is with a posi-trac rear end and using Mobil1 full syn, do I have to add the GM friction additive?

Re: Rear diff question

Ok, but why? Wouldn't adding a friction additive basically defeat the purpose of adding full synthetic to anything?

Oh and I figured out that the best way to remove and install a starter is to remove the y-pipe altogether. It eliminates having to rubiks cube the piece of ----. lol
