This car didnt run well when i got it so i fixed a few things and it was running absolutely perfect 2 days ago. I bought a brand new holley 750 DP with a proform mainbody, new coil, set the valve preload, unstuck the lifter that was giving me headaches, new performer rpm intake. I have the timing at 38 degrees at 3k with no vacuum advance hooked up at the moment. Im getting about 12hg vacuum at idle, thats at 650-700, it bounces about 50 rpms while idling.

Okay, so the car was running perfect right after i assembled everything. I went to crank it up yesterday and it started right up, but its very sluggish. I can floor it and its no faster than a honda. The day prior when i went WOT, the front end popped up about an inch and i was gone. Again today.. not so much. The distributor didnt move, no leaks.. nothing. I did notice that cylinder 1 and 2 spark plug wires are beginning to crack from sitting on a header but i cant see just that making my car feel like it only has about 100 hp. Im getting spark in the cylinders and the wires arent grounding out. I really dont know what else to look for.. any advice?

 

2 burned wires WILL eat that much power. Been there, done that.
