85 iroc mystery wont start. see if you can help me
here's what we have,
1985 Iroc z-28. 305 carbed and has a 5 spd. 79k original miles. (just bragging lol)
ok so, it was running when we turned the hvac controls on the car went dead.
by dead I mean the engine stopped running and everything.
no power to dash, radio etc.
no power to windows, locks either.
no power to starter.
interior lights are on, rear hatch works. headlights work.
battery is charged and terminals are clean and tight. so is the starter cable.
all fuses (that I know of) are good.
looking for some ideas here fellas. I'm all out of them.
is there a relay etc that might control all of this?
I've never encountered such a problem. I have someone coming to buy it later today of course and it just ups and does this to me.

ok I got it solved. there is a in-line fusible link located near the starter. it was bad. I bypassed it completely with a new wire and a actual fuse at the battery.
there is also one up by the battery area under the intake snorkel.
if you come across this type of problem look at those two links.
