Fuel pump retuning fuel

Hey everyone, I recently rebuild my whole car, and went from 305 TPI to 350 carb, I have everything wired up correctly, meaning I cut the tan wire to the fuel pump and made a switch to run when I turn the key, it was priming fine before but now its just returning fuel, any idea on what is happening???

I wanted to drive it to TGO fest but if I cant get this fixed by then Im screwed, still need to get it to the shop for the exhaust too

Re: Fuel pump retuning fuel

I would be more curious about your setup. What type of fuel pressure regulator you are using, how you routed your lines, what type of carb. Clear fuel filters are a good idea to both filter and see if fuel is getting past that regulator and to your carb. Also carbs with sight windows on the side are nice to check for fuel. With the info at hand saying it worked before tells me that you have a clog, maybe a kinked line somewhere. If you have rubber lines, maybe the heat slowly caused it to kink somewhere over a sharp curve.

Re: Fuel pump retuning fuel

I'm using the stock lines from the tank then I have fittings from the rubber hoses in the engine bay to braided fuel lines to the FP regulator which is an Aeromotive, from there 1 line to the holley 650cfm carb, I didn't rebuild it. I took the lines of there and ran the pump, it just makes a gurgaling noise and the fuel barely spurts out. May sound stupid but Im possibly outta gas. . . lol
