Automatic rear hatch confusion
So, I couldn't figure out where to post this problem, so I decided on here. Sorry if it's in the wrong area.
Anyways, this isn't a serious problem, but it confuses me. My Automatic hatch release is suppose to not only pull the hatch down to close/lock, but also to push open AND pop up right? Well mine does all that BUT pop up. If I'm not right back there to physically lift on the hatch the darn thing start's pulling it back down. What can I do to remedy the problem?!?

Re: Automatic rear hatch confusion
Mine does this on occasion - I'm guessing I need new hatch shocks - old as they are, they probably aren't giving the 'lifting' force they should.

Ok, update! It is more than likely the hatch struts if you're having this problem. I finally ponied up the money for new struts, and man what a difference. Does exactly what it's suppose to now.

Re: Automatic rear hatch confusion
I got mine at Autozone for $65. Not bad, but I've seen them cheaper on Ebay. I was unsure of the quality from Ebay, and wanted to make sure I got the ones for the Z28 spoiler and defrost tabs. All in all it was a great investment for the car!
