Need Advice on First drag/street rod

Hello. I have been researching on how i want to build my 88 i-rocz camaro, and alot of my questions were answered by the forums on this site so im entrusting you guys with this project. My dad has a garage with about every tool u could think of so i can do prity much anything i wish. We have about 5 street rides in various garages and alot of parts i can use.

I have a beautiful 88 i-rocz 355 tpi. i got the car about a year ago and havent realy done any thing major to it yet. But the old man the owned it before me had already started building it. contents of the car are as follows:

9 in curry rear end, full possy, 3.73 gears
b&m street and strip 700r4 tranny /w shift kit, hurst speed shifter
aluminum weld drag light wheels
the car is also chiped
The moter is still the stock 350 block just bored to 355. im not sure
how he build the motor so i was planing on going threw it.

at the track i can run 15.20's threw the 1/4.
i feel like the car should be runing better than it is.
i have taken this car 500 miles and to the drag strip in the same week before its very dependable.
my future plans for this car are as follows:

msd ignition
new throttle body
bigger injecters
biger cam
better heads
better pistons and rods
and i am realy considering a procharger

as u can see im a long way from finishing this thing.

if any one on here has any advice on little things i can do to make my car run better and or build advice i would apriticate it.

if it dosent already have a set get some good subframe connectors, adjustible torque arm, and panhard rod if its lowered.
what heads and cam were you thinking about using?

it already has subframe connectors, i think the suspension has been modified. i have no idea what cam and heads im going to get. i dont want to make it crazy but i would like to see a low 12 to high 11 out of it with out sacrificing the daily driver aspect of it. the rear end and tranny have about 27,000 miles on them and the motor about 30,000 after rebuild. i am planning on buying a procharger and building it as a super charged car.

Re: Need Advice on First drag/street rod

just going throw out bits and peices, i really dont see the car hitting the 11 sec mark without alot of money and planing with the stock block and im not sure how safe it would be to bore to a 383, all this while not sacrafising driveablity is really hard to see (dont flame me) unless its somthing like HSR or LT1 on the block.

a lsx engine could hit 11's easily and be able to be used as a DD with no problems. a ls1 with mild bolt ons and a bit of weight reductions could go 11's no problem. dont get me wrong, a 355 could hit 11's carbed but i dont see how without getting bad mpg expecially with a s/c.

best bet i see is to get a ls1 from a 4th gen f-body as it seems that you got the tools you need. Good luck, and btw is it still tpi or carbed?
