Valve Lash Measurement

Have a 92 rs tbi. po put a 77 350w/ carb. ive done valve adjustments by hand. saw you can do with feeler gauge. does anyone know what the "measurement" for the proper feeler gauge would be. been looking cant find a number. thanks

Hydraulic lifters don't use a feeler gauge except if you want to use it to determine zero lash.

With the lifter on the base circle of the cam, you adjust the rocker to zero lash. You can use a .001-.0015 feeler gauge to do this if you want. You then tighten the rocker nut 1/4-1/2 turn more to set a preload in the lifter. The hydraulic lifter allows some tolerance but the adjustment can be measured with a dial gauge. The 1/4 - 1/2 turn is setting a .020 - .040" preload in the lifter.
