my camaros dont start

When i turn the key in my 89 rs and 88 rs (some times the iroc-z's) it does start up fine other times it does not do anything, no click, click, click and when it does start to turn over it starts trying to and very slowly turns over if i pump the gas just wondering anybody know what the problem could be?

Re: my camaros dont start

if it turns over very slowly or not at all I would think its a battery, starter, or bad connection to one of the two. try using a multimeter to test and see if the battery is at 12+ volts

Re: my camaros dont start

There are supposed to be several grounds.

1) Batt neg to engine block (usually close to alternator or A/C)
2) Batt neg to body (smaller neg cable from batt to fender)
3) Engine block to body (usually from pass side head to firewall)

The engine and the body have to be connected to the neg batt post in order for anything to work. There's no neg cable to the starter, the starter gets it's ground from being attached to the block. Like lights - they have no neg wires either (not all the way to the battery) - they get connected to the body for ground.
