what to do next
I bought a 88 Camaro from a shop. The 1st owner brought it in to but some new rings on it. Once the did that they said that they motor start knocking, so the owner didnt wont it anymore. So i gave him 500 for the car (i always wanted a Camaro). Since i had the car I got a tune up, new Distributor cap, new water pump, freeze plugs, rear seal, oil change & a new radiator. Since i had they car it haven't knocked yet.

hey man if it is running good ....it sounds like you did a hefty tune up ...ide drive the sucker....if you start to notice the "knock" go from there

The 1st owner had the car for raceing. I'm thinking since he was an older guy the guys at the motor shop told him that it was knocking so that they could get the motor. Because if it was knocking wouldn't it knock every time i start it up and drive it around.

What shop? What part of town?
(I used to live im Mumfus for a very long time a long time ago, I don't imagine it has improved since then although some parts of it weren't too bad)
If it RUNS good, it IS good. No matter what the PO thought, or what the shop tried to rip him off for, or what kind of stories and whatever it comes with. Drive it and enjoy it.
