Radiator/Cooling Question

So I just bought a 1991 Z28, starts up and runs, but there is smoke the starts coming from the driver side Valve cover. This is a 305tpi car. We thought it had a blown headgasket. On the way home, it overheated and the radiator mount broke off. There is one big radiator and one small one... how does this setup work? We had to back the car out of the garage with the radiator off, and oil and coolant (mixed together) poured all over the ground... I thought it was only supposed to be coolant that circulated the radiator and then the block, or is there an oil cooler on the Z28's as well? Or this this a sure sign of a very badly blown headgasket?

Re: Radiator/Cooling Question

was it oil or trans fluid ( oil is brown trans fluid is red) . it's most likely not 2 radiators you have a radiator and the ac condenser that mounts in front of the radiator .If you started the car with the radiator out the trans lines that go to the radiator will spew fluid out . Hope this helps you a little.
