From what I have heard you almost have to redo your whole top end to put vortec heads on.

You'll need a vortec style intake manifold to go with the heads and that's about it. The Vortec intakes have no provisions for the A.I.R. system so you'll have to tap our exhaust if you want to keep emissions. Other than that, it's strait forward. the Vortec style heads are something of a Bottled Geni that GM discovered in the mid-90's as they were the best flowing factory heads GM ever made until some of the newer LS series heads that are out). They'll improve HP and gas mileage in your car.
