LB9 TPI Cam Swap
i've been reading up on a cam swap and ive read so many options that i would like a little more knowledge before i spend the money. i have a stock 91 305 tpi without G92. Accel intake and runners (extruded and honed). 3" cat back with new magnaflow cat. will do headers same time as the cam swap. planning on hooker 2055's but also been checkin out dyno dons as well. i think i will go with the 2055's because it already has the y pipe. anyhow, im looking for your guys' opinion on the best cam to go with. i want to keep low end torque and driveability while also gaining HP if possible. im not really looking for a high reving motor either. i know the G92 package got you the 350 cam. i've read about the lt1 cam being a good swap but somewhat mild. i've read about the production style lt4 being a great option but i havent read very much about that one. and i think the lt4 hot cam has to much lift for my stock heads. which i believe max out around .480 lift? is that accurate? anything is much appreciated. thanks guys
also id like to know any other mods needed with your suggested cam, such as new valve springs. and do i need a new timing chain and gears when i do the swap? thanks guys!!!
