thumper cam shaft??

thumper cam shaft??

any one run one??
i am in the process of looking for a good cam shaft/lifter kit for my fathers 454's its in a 1960 ****** pickup all chevy, about 10:1 compression and oval port heads,
i want one that sounds good and peforms wells and with a stock converter,

he just gave me a bowtie 454 with eagle h-beams and forged pistons to build so i have to help him out

You're not going to find too many cams that "sound good" and will work with a stock converter. The duration and overlap to get that rump, rump sound won't work very well with a stock converter.

I've got a big cam in my engine and it doesn't have the rump, rump sound.

Pick a cam to suit the driving style. If it's mainly street driven, you don't need an aggressive cam that starts to make power well above where the engine rpms will be operating.
