Hey all. Looking for a tutorial, book, something to show exactly what is needed to convert my 4 speed car to a 700R4. The 4 speed was stolen along with the drive shaft. They left the bell housing for me to toss on the scrap pile along with the flywheel.

Anyone have any good advise? Thanks!

A 700-R4 (duh), with the F-body extension housing; later-model (84 up) crossmember, drive shaft, 82-85 flex plate, torque converter, fluid cooler & lines, shifter, console top, cut the piece of the tunnel out of an auto car at the buzzard, torque arm mount, misc bolts

Don't throw that BH away, it's worth something, people are always looking for those

Cutting out the tunnel seems drastic. Is it really needed? What is a Buzzard in relation to this car?

As for the parts I may keep them for awhile but I have learned the hard way not to let things gather dust. Everyone says "someone will want that!" but no one ever seems to.

Thanks for your help!

Cutting a tunnel out of an auto car and replacing the stick tunnel you have now, is AHELLUVALOT eeezier that trying to figure out how to mount a shifter to a gigantic hole where nothing is the right shape.

Buzzard = a creature that picks over dead carcasses = people who work at a junkyard

Put your old parts on the classifieds on this site. Won't last long. Blee dat.
