89 Formula cranks wont start
hey guys i have a 89 formula 350 tpi it has 75k miles sometimes it will crank but wont start unless i spray some starting fluid in the intake. other times it starts just fine, so far i have replace the cap and rotor coolant temp sensor and the tps, i have good fuel pressure and spark when this occurs any suggestions would be great thanks.

What is good spark/fuel pressure? If you have good spark and fuel pressure you should have some kind of combustion, at least a sputter. Have you messed with the timing any? Have you checked your injectors to see if thier pulsing?

i had my brother turn the care over the fuel pressure was 24 psi all the injectors are pulsing and i pulled all the spark plug wires off one at a time and there was spark coming from each wire, but the engine would just turn over no crank. if i take the intake hose off and spray a little starting fluid in the fires right up. i cant figure out what the problem is. some days i got out and it starts right up

cap and rotor won't fix it try a rebuild of the whole distributer. I think it's a reluctor ring that cracks or something like that.
Re: 89 Formula cranks wont start
Hey Man. If it runs on starting fluild, then its not getting fuel. Do a Ohms test on ALL the Injectors. Record the values of each. They must be within 3 ohms of each other. Good ones start around 16 to 17 ohms. One or two real bad ones with a low resistance, and the engine will not start!
