87 trans am with 305 tpi 5 speed. car was stalling on me when i came to a stop. replaced IAC, throttle posistion sensor and later found the MAF sensor had a broken wire so i replaced that too. after that fix my check engine light went off which was nice but the next day the check engine light came on and it stalled out on me again but this time while i was driving. once i got it started again it was just fine. now when i start the car it starts right away but my electric fans come on right away which is wierd and it stalls out as soon as gas is applied. any ideas???? ECM???? thanks in advance!!!!

 

Yea sounds like ecm, i had the same problem, turn the key to accessory and see if you hear the fuel pump prime. You should hear an hum for a few seconds. If it doesnt prime, id check out a new ECM

 

the fuel pump primes and car starts up immediatly but its wierd because fans in the on posistion turn on which that never happens and when started and given gas it dies. dont give it gas and it seems to idle fine

 

Right now, i would check fuel pressure. Is your car throwing any codes? When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? The fan could be a separate problem.

 

i just might replace fuel filter just to but the fan coming on happened same time the current problem started so im pretty sure its related to whats going on now. will look into it more on my day off

 

Double check the work you did on the broken wire, if you have a short to ground on the signal to ecm wire, then all kinds of weird thing can happen.
