Put my new hei dist in today with plugs and wires. car ran a few times during the day. went to start before. is really hard to start then the times it does it runs for a few seconds then dies. fuel pressure is still 6psi. some thoughts fuel problem? bad ground? or.....

 

Are you sure about where you set the initial timing?

 

i marked where the vac advance was and lined up dist with 0 on dampner and rotor was pointing to number one. dropped new dist in. car started up and ran a few times during the day for up to 15 mins till i shut it down. drove it up and down driveway. chirped tires. then later on this started. hooked meter up to dist (battery term) voltage is at 11.9 and is there when engines stalls. fuel pressure is about 6psi right before carb. like i said starts 5 secs dies.

 

ok so got car running after a few times. used SEAFOAM in carb through vac line last night like ive done numerous times in other cars. got smoke out and all. guessing maybe it was still pushing crap through. still getting smoke out exhaust but running steady. DUH lol

 

still having prob with starting. tries to turn over but not unless i jump it. volts drop low. added another ground today.
