No Heater

Ok so the blower motor works, but the heater is not. Its all hooked up but I can hear like a hissing sound coming from the control unit. What could this be?

Re: No Heater

If you have a vacuum leak, then several things could be happening to reduce heat

1) flapper door to the heater core not opening
2) heater diverter valve under hood not opening
3) all air blowing out the defroster vents

Re: No Heater

I'd say check the back of the control unit for a vacuum leak like mentioned. I remember the rubber connector coming loose on me once.

With the unit switched to heat and the car warmed up you should be able to feel both lines going into the heater core on the passenger side of the car under the hood. Both should be warm/hot if the diverter valve is working correctly.
