Fuel tank cleaning inside

In the process of a rear end swap and underbody cleaning, is there a need to remove the fuel tank to check inside for debris/rust/sediment, etc.?

this would be a great time to do it . i'll bet you will be surprised at the amount of trash/debris in your tank . wash with soap (DAWN dish soap) , rinse well several times with clean water . dry right away (i use a leaf blower , works great) then inspect for rust/damage . if any found a treatment with a tank sealer will take care of it . good luck .

Re: Fuel tank cleaning inside

If I were to buy a new tank, would it have to be sealed?
