Changing filter inside charcoal canister?
I picked up a replacement filter for my charcoal canister and am curious how these change out? This is on my 91 Z28 with the cylindrical shaped canister (looks like a smaller coffee can).
Did a search but came up with nothing.

Re: Changing filter inside charcoal canister?
For those members who might use the search function: Most people don't know there's a filter on the canister, and as a consequence, I doubt that many filters have ever been changed. On my 85, the filter is on the bottom of the canister. A simple yank the brittle old one out and tuck the new one in place. Pic/part # below.

Curious about years, I check on RockAuto, which shows the piece from 88-92. I "assume" that means that 82-87 were equipped with the filter--for whatever that assumption is worth. The canister from them was $97 and change, the earlier model between $50 and $60.

If you go the GM dealer and ask for a charcoal canister filter for a 1991 Camaro/Firebird, they'll tell you the filter isn't a serviceable part.
You can pull the can yourself and look at the bottom... There's no filter there that can be replaced. It only applies to earlier cars. I couldn't tell you when the change occurred.
