Pistons 040?

I was reringing pistons on a chevy 350 that I bought and while cleaning the piston I found the numbers " 040 " stamped on the from of the piston. Does 040 mean that the piston is for a .04" over bore size?

Most likely yes, A quick way to verify to to measure the bore with dial caliper.
