radiator fluid
hey guys, my rads got really dirty fluid im guessing from the car sitting, and im thinking this is causing an overheating problem.. is this true? the car heats up really fast in idle.. anything i can do about this? thanks guys!
Re: radiator fluid
What's you're temp gauge saying?
More likely to be water pump or thermostat not functioning correctly.
You may as well pull the bottom hose off the rad, drain the old coolant and flush the rad and block through with a hose pipe. While you've got it drained down you could pull the thermostat, drop it in a mug of boiling water and see if it opens.

For troubleshooting issues, I agree to check the thermostat to see if it is opening properly. No more than what they cost - go back with a new one regardless of what you find.
