SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!
I have a 1992 rs with a 305 tbi. When the car is cold it is doing something I cannot find the solution to. When i start the car it runs perfectly for 5 to 8 minutes if it is parked or if i am driving. The tach then starts to bounce erratically and the car refuses to idle. The car also has no power and feels like it is missing throughout the rpm range. If i have to stop at a light the vehicle will die. It does this for 3 to 5 minutes and then corrects itself. It has only thrown a cel twice and it was code 42. I have replaced the coolant temp sensor, distributor, module, cap, rotor, coil, wires, plugs, and the thermostat. I have checked the wire from the distributor to the ecm and the connection is good. If the car has been ran and is warm it will not do this and once it has corrected itself it does not do this again until it has cooled down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You've replaced the entire distributor? Checked all the grounds at the engine and ECM?
Re: SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!
I have replaced the entire distributor, have checked all wiring and grounds.I bought the car about a month ago and i have yet to find a reason it is doing this every morning. I feel the problem is too consistent to be a loose connection, but i have been wrong before so i checked them anyway. no cigar

Re: SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!
Check that the PROM is seated correctly with clean contacts, and if that doesn't work, try another ECM.
