clicking noise from passenger side of engine??

hey all. new to thirdgen, love the site. first post here.

i have a 87 firebird 305 5-speed 4bbl.
there is a clicking noise coming from the right side of the engine. i can hear it through the exhaust down to the cat converter. and i can hear it on the top of the engine as well. i cant pinpoint where it is coming from or what it is...??
the noise is loudest after i rev the engine and its decelerating. and its doesnt happen everytime i drive the car.. just about 85-90% of the time. so.... most of the time lol
ne ideas?

Sounds like it could be a exhaust leak, which usually is the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head, or something electrical arching.

Exhaust leak, tighten the manifold to head bolts, and tighten the manifold to Y pipe bolts. Spray some tap water around the wires to check for arcing, but you'd notice an arc while driving, trust me.

if tightening the exhaust dosent work check your A.I.R. tube going to the cat some times it comes loose and rattles against the exhaust.
