Vortec Build
I have a 98 vortec motor converted to carbed, beehive springs and retainers set up for .550".
Can anybody suggest a cam/custom grind? It's going behind a manual trans and I would like some streetability (I don't care if it's barely streetable). I want as much power as I can get out of the thing.

Re: Vortec Build
Well I guess really it depends on your bottom end. Anything bigger and you'll be pushing 6000rpms which is around the limit on a stock bottom end. If your bottom end is built to handle the RPMs, then go bigger. XR282HR would be nice but may push you beyond that range to make peak power. Also, if you plan to push the limit with those heads it would be a good idea to have some screw in studs since your talking higher rpm and higher lift.
