Why!? I'm cursed! I'll never keep this running! Fuel pump died again
84 T/A, carbed 350. Getting tired of unreliability. So I was putting new spark plugs in the car today and swapping out my thermostat. I was burping the radiator and the car dies. Don't hear my fuel pump running. Put my ear down behind my rear tire and I hear the pump motor running, but my fuel pressure is zero. I still have half a tank so it should have plenty of fuel. Then I smell the telltale burning electronics smell. Jack up the car and sure enough, the pump is smoking. Don't know what happened. Ran great for 4 months..then just poof. Its a Holley Back pump. Second Holley pump to go TU on me. Any suggestions on a better pump to use? I do have a bypass
regulator set to 6PSI. Thanks.

Make sure you replace the fuel filter when you install/installed you new pump. A restricted fuel filter will put excessive stress on the fuel pump causing premature failure. Also make sure all of your wiring is up to par, good grounds, correct size wire, these can cause hi resistance making your fuel pumps life very short.
