Need to replace dry-rotted fuel line, where to buy, what kind and size
For the 84 Camaro V6 2.8, , i have "Dry-rotted fuel lines" as my "Smell of gas' issue (it also leaked out, all but a small amount.) We are going to drop the tank and change them. Pointed out they are likely Steel lines.
Does Autozone even sell this?
Diameter of the lines?
And is there a "Gasket at the top of the tank?"
Just a few questions, about where to buy the lines.. and what size/type. Thanks!

Assuming all of that is still factory:
There's a gasket of sorts at the top of the tanke, but it basically never gos bad, unless it's been messed with and put back in wrong.
The lines are steel for all but a very short distance. When the car is put together at the factory, the tank is put up into the car, with some little stucn of line made onto it; the main pieces of line that run from the tank to the front are put on in a separate step; and little connectors of hose about 6" long are used to bridge the gap
THere are 4 such pieces.
Since you have a 6-cyl, I have not the vaguest clue what sizes they are. However if it was a V8, there would be 1 that is 3/8" and IIRC 3 that are 5/16".
Since hose is less than $1 a foot, you could go and buy 1' of 3/8", 2' of 5/16", and 1' of ¼", and have enough to make whatever you need, and still not cost $5. Get the "fuel injection" type instead of the cheeeeep stuff and never have to worry about it again.
Get hose clamps for that kind of size range while you're at the store.
There is no need to drop the tank. In fact you'd probably get into more trouble doing that, than to just deal with the tight space.
