fuel pump question

fuel pump question

Just want to be sure,,if i jumpped the plug coming off the gas tank with 12volts the fuel pump should kick rt on if its working rt?

There are only 3 so i hit each one and nothing

Think about it

One of the 3 wires is a ground wire for the pump and tank gauge and with plug disconnected you have
NO ground
so how is pump supposed to operate ???????
Connect up ground wire on plug to a good ground and try again

Lol i did.i used my spare battery and ran two wires from i. I touch each end of the plug.i used a test light for my pos side wire so id know when i would touch the grond lead.i did it everyway possible and not even slight noise click nothing.my test light did light up so i know i had current going to the plug..
