I was looking at a 91 firebird 5.0 tbi that has 186k on it. Id probably drive it for teh summer and throw a 5.7 tpi in it over the winter. but i was just wondering how many miles have you gusy gotten out of your cars? either the motor or the body...

 

I bought my TBI car with 170,000 and nothing wrong with the motor or tranny at all, was good and strong. If it runs good now, I'd have no fear. But that's me - miles don't bother me, I can always fix/rebuild/replace.

 

i got a all original 92 camaro rs 305 tbi 5 speed with 246.753 miles and still runs great with plenty of power still. also have a 95 blazer with the 4.3 v-6 it has 298,686 miles and it still runs and drives like new lol. its all in how u treatem and take care of em. also i had a 87 iroc-z and it had just over 225,000

 

my 90' RS has Over 260k and shes still kickin'. original 305 TBi and 700r4. and i agree with camaronewbie thats the beauty of it. miles dont phase me. in my eyes theyre just numbers. i dont even pay any attention to them

 

hi, I have a 89rs 305 auto. that needed some work the tranny was shot but the motor turned out to be in very good shape (except for valve seals) 189k put a tranny in with 79k and it's doing good. Soon I want a 350 vortec in. I also had a 93 cavalier 3.1v6 auto I bought it with 121k for 4500 (yeah I got ripped or did I) I gave it to a girl in my church with 378k all orig. no major overhauling needed. Just a water pump, tension pulley, and fuel pump starter, and a battery. I must agree taking care of it is the key, And a touch from the Good Lord doesn't hurt either.
