What distributor??

Hi. I am planning buying a new distributor for my 87 Camaro.
It has ha 305 TPI engine. I have a external coil now but I want to have a internal coil if there is any on the market that would fit under my distributor TPI cover. I mean a distributor with a internal coil in it.

Are there any good choises here?? MSD??..Accel???

Re: What distributor??

I dont think that exists. Your talking about an HEI distributor, which are all going to be for carbed motors. Your distributor has a cam sensor built in that the computer looks at.

Really??..I just thought that it was possible to get a HEI distributor with the electronic timing advance that the TPI system got.

Re: What distributor??

Never seen that one before. If it will work then I learned something new. I have always been under the impression that a stock style distributor is what you have to use. I know MSD makes a stock style.

Looks like a perfectly good waste of $300 to me - if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I'm sure your car could use $300 elsewhere that would help it rather than do nothing for it.
