need help

I cant seem to find the right walbro fuel pump for my 83 trans am. I'm not sure if i need a specific type, because the descriptions are 1985-2002. any help would be appreciated.

they didnt start using electric fuel pumps till 85 with fuel injection you should have a mechanical fuel pump on the engine its on the front bottom left side looking from the front of the car.

I'm a little confused now. I hear that it uses a mechanical pump but I've also read that the crossfire fuel system used an in tank fuel pump and I'm not sure. I havent been able to actually see my car for a couple of weeks so I haven't checked for myself.

worst case pull the pump and take it with you to the parts store and have them cross refernce it. now that you mention it some had a elcetric in tank and a mechanical pump if I recall corectly.
