Vacuum hoses

I've got a vacuum line mess and I'm trying to replace them all rather than try to use t's and connectors to fix the broken ones. Is this a bad idea?

From anyone elses experience, can I reuse the elbows and connectors? Any idea where to get a kit if it's made with everything already in it? Also, what sizes are the hoses, I know 3/8" and a couple others?

I've got an E4ME CCQ-jet right now and was thinking of going to a carb with mechanical secondaries and put in an HEI distributor with vacuum advance down the line if this makes a difference. I know a lot of the vacuum lines are carb related right now. Am I better off just swapping carbs and distributors to eleminate having to sort through this?

Re: Vacuum hoses

You can reuse anything that isn't broken. The big stuff is 3/8", the small stuff is around 5/32".

Fix it all and you'll have better mileage, better driveability, lower emissions, and the same power as if you replace it.
