bad idle air control valve?

bad idle air control valve?
i had my idle air control valve off due to constant stalling, i put it back on, started it up and it died right away, then took it off again and started it up and rpm instantly rose to 2500, does this mean the idle air control valve is bad?

You would need to run a diognostic test to figure out what the culprit is for sure. I replaced my IAC due to stalling, and Idling too high. I just took an educated guess, but it did the trick.
