Failed SMOG-EVAP Leak

So I went to get my 92 Camaro RS smogged and it passed everything except for the guy said there was a leak in between the EVAP canister and the gas tank. It also smells like fumes in the car sometimes and the idle likes to surge. Please need help

Re: Failed SMOG-EVAP Leak

Check the hard line for holes or spots where it's been pinched and possibly cracked, and the soft lines for rot, cracks, disconnects. Check it all from the tank to the canister. Start at the canister- that's likely where it's at.

Had a similar issue (smelling gas in the car) in our 99 Grand Am just last month- turned out that an Evap line had worked itself off the vent solenoid.
