Fuel Pump Prime
Fuel Pump Prime
Got a 85 Camaro (tpi), Right now its got a toggle switch to supply 12v to the green/white wire on the fuel pump relay to to get the fuel pump running on start so it doesn't have to crank for 20 seconds to build up oil pressure.
Without the toggle switch, it doesn't seem the ECM is sending out the 12v with the key on to prime the pump, so it'll only get power for the fuel pump through the oil pressure switch.
I'm not getting a code 52 and the service engine light works and all, Don't know what to do from here. Any ideas? Besides this the car runs near perfect and i was under the impression if the ECM goes out, u get a code 52 or no service engine light, Or it wont start at all because the ecm controls injector pulses?

Re: Fuel Pump Prime
I wired my fuel pump relay to the power source under the steering wheel. It gets power when the ignition is turned. No toggle

You may have simply lost the circuit in the ECM that powers the relay. That doesn't mean the rest of the ECM's functions aren't still okay. The code for low fuel pump voltage is 54. But you are circumventing that code by powering the fuel pump through a switch. The ECM doesn't know that it's not supplying the power.
Before you determine that the ECM is damaged, I would test for power on that green wire at the ECM. There may be a break in the wire somewhere else.
