workin on a 3.1 in a 92 bird,new coil,new dizzy and the fixins,timing set at 0 tdc. tried to start and just cranks. plenty of spark. fp kicks in good and schraeder vavle seems too have good pressure(40 psi)....2 outa ten times it dropped to zero after pump cycle but i figured it should try to start. i hit the schraeder vavle to relieve pressure and twisted the dizzy to get wire outa the way and it made the pump kick in again. was like.....uh....and did it again with same result. why would it do that and why is it not startin????any answers or suggestions

 

Plugs may be gas fouled, fireing order out of time, crossed wires somewhere.

IDK fuel pump issue.

 

Your inline fuse for the fuel pump is loose. it's gonna be a fuse somewhere by the battery. find it and with the key on wiggle it and see if it makes the fuel pump kick on. If so you gotta fix it or replace happens all the time on these cars

 

ran the wires like the manual said,123456,no crossed wires,prolly gonna try new pump tomorrow but it wont even start off ether so i dunno.

fuel pump fuse is tight an its behind the passenger headlight so movin the dizzy has nothin to do with the fuse if it were loose

 

new pump installed today,still same issue. injectors maybe???? but like i said not startin off either either, did comp check and 150 on all cylinders. has a new cat on it so i dont think its clogged causing too much back pressure. im runnin out of ideas

and does anyone know an easy way to drain a fuel tank on these cars??
