I am trying to replace the timing cover on a 1987, 2.8L Camaro. I have the water pump, harmonic balancer/damper and the remaining three timing cover bolts removed. I still can't seem to pry it off the engine block. I'm wondering if I removed everything needed to get it off. Do I have to remove the timing pointer and any oil pan bolts? Or is it possible that the seal between the timing cover and gasket is that strong?

Re: 2.8L Timing Cover
You should have i believe two bolts on the pan connected to the timing cover. An yea that seal usually does suck because of how hot it gets
